I haven't worked outside the home since 2001. As George's needs increased, my hours as a nurse decreased. Finally stopping altogether. Since George's passing, a few people have asked me if I was going to go back to work. To tell the truth, I hadn't given it much thought, and had no idea what I would do. I knew that I did not want to go back to nursing. Well...yesterday, Tom Jakobs, a dear friend of ours, offered me a job! It's very part time, just 10hrs a week. This is a great opportunity for me to use my background as a nurse, plus all the experience I gained as George's caregiver. My title will be "Be Extraordinary Client Advocate". Tom is the president of Invotek. Invotek.org This is the organization that did the video of my Extraordinary George. George was to be the first client for this pilot program. You can read more about this on the website.
I am excited, and a little bit nervous about this new part of my life. I am used to working with all women, but welcome the opportunity to work with all men! Women can be...well you know! I start Monday by calling our initial 6 clients to gather info for a press release. Wish me luck, please! Not a clue what I'm doing!

the vintage pearl
I ran across an ad for "the vintage pearl" in Red Book while getting my oil changed this summer. Something about it intrigued me, so I jotted down the website to look up when I got home. I have been in love ever since! I am currently awaiting the arrival of my first order! It's like waiting for Santa to come! I love all of there stuff. The hardest part was deciding which item to purchase! They are all great! Check out thevintagepearl.com
